Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma paid an inspection visit to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

On Jun. 28 and 29, having attended the 2nd World Peace Forum, Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma paid an inspection visit to Inner Mongolia.

Wang Yuming, Vice-chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region met with Koroma and his party in Wusitai Town, Alxa League, accompanied by Kuang Weilin, Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone.

Wang Yuming on behalf of the Party committee and the government of the Autonomous Region welcomed Koroma’s delegation and introduced the delegation the general situation of the Autonomous Region. He said that in recent years Kingho Group had been developing very quickly and made positive contributions to economic and social development of the Autonomous Region. The Party committee and the government of the Autonomous Region strongly support Kingho Group to “go out”, and hoped that Kingho Group’s investment cooperation in Sierra Leone would achieve a mutual benefit and win-win goal.

This May, Kingho Group signed with Sierra Leone a memorandum of understanding with a total investment of USD 6 billion. The project involves Magburaka-Sulima railway, as well as relevant ports, highway, parks as well as supporting electric power facilities. In Alxa Economic Development Zone, Koroma visited Kingho national-level circular economy industrial park and fine chemical park, learnt in detail about Kingho Group’s production processes, chain of circular industry and projects under construction, visited employees’ living quarters and the vocational education training base, and have an informal discussion with the leaders of the Development Zone and the enterprises.

Koroma praised Kingho Group for its utilizing the local resources to develop circular economy. He pointed out that Kingho Group was laudable for its development philosophy of taking advantage of talent resources and continuously improving enterprise competitiveness, hoped Kingho Group could further quicken its pace in investment cooperation in Sierra Leone and promote the economic development of Sierra Leone, and said Sierra Leone would practically protect the rights and interests of Kingho Group and create a stable and reliable environment for Kingho Group’s development.

Koroma said Sierra Leone shared many similarities with Inner Mongolia in mineral resources, tourism, agriculture, etc., Kingho Group had established a good cooperative relationship between Inner Mongolia and Sierra Leone, and hoped the two sides would strengthen exchanges, actively expand the cooperative space, and realize mutual benefit and common development.
